The stadium has nearly 48,000 covered seats. The construction of the next-generation "Big Lift" roof (a first in Brazil) brought together engineers from Germany, Switzerland, France, the United States and Brazil.

Arena Fonte Nova is the first stadium in Brazil to obtain LEED Silver certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).
