The history of Granada CF and Nuevo Los Carmenes
Granada Club de Futbol was founded in 1931, its colours are red and white and its motto is « Luchar para ganar » (fight to win) and « Eterna Lucha » (eternal struggle). In total, the club spent 27 seasons in the Spanish top division.
For the 2024-25 season, Granada CF accomplished what no other club in the history of football had managed to do. By collaborating directly with internationally renowned artist Saiko (from Granada) for the 2024/25 season, the club became the first club to display an artist's brand as its main sponsor for an entire season.
Its home is the Nuevo Los Cármenes stadium, located in the Zaidín neighbourhood. With a capacity of 21,400 seats, it was built in 1995 to replace the old stadium, taking advantage of the 1996 Alpine Skiing World Championship hosting.
As for the stadium's name, a Carmen is a typical house in the Albaicín neighbourhood with a kitchen garden, fountains and pools.
