It was built for the 2002 Commonwealth Games.

 

Etihad Stadium has launched a major renovation and improvement project to enhance the fan experience across the campus by the end of 2026. Everything has been redesigned, from the fan zone and shops to hotels and entertainment.

 

🚶🏽‍♂️Citylink Circuit: The pedestrian route connecting Holt Town tram station to Etihad Stadium has been transformed into a true experience through interactive light installations, performances and temporary food stands. It is fully signposted throughout.

How to buy tickets for a Manchester City match at Etihad Stadium?

🔒 Ticket sales for Manchester City's Premier League (and European Cup) matches are exclusively reserved for season ticket holders and members. It is possible to become a member to access ticket sales.

 

🔃 There is a ticket resale system from season ticket holders (on the same ticketing platform). You can therefore find tickets for sale in the days before the match through this resale system, as a member.

How to get to Etihad Stadium by public transport?

🚈 Many tram lines serve the "Etihad Campus" station located 10-15 minutes' walk from the stadium. It is served by the Ashton-under-Lyne line (blue line).

🚍 Buses operated by BEE company also serve the stadium. Buses 53/76/216/219/230/231 stop at "Etihad Stadium" station

🚌 A large-scale bus network has been set up by Transport for Greater Manchester (TFGM). 17 routes cover Greater Manchester.

🚆 The nearest train station to Etihad Stadium is Ashburys station. It is 5 minutes by train from Manchester Piccadilly station and 20 minutes' walk from the stadium.

🚶🏽‍♂️ Etihad Stadium is approximately 35 minutes' walk from Manchester city centre.

 

⚠️ Surrounding car parks are reserved for residents - Some roads are closed after matches for the safety of spectators in the vicinity of the stadium during matchdays.

🅿️ It is possible to book a parking space online on the stadium's website, but season ticket holders have priority.

P+R: The city has more than 20 park and ride facilities. The closest free Metrolink Park & Ride car parks to the stadium are Ashton Moss and Ashton West, 30 minutes from the Etihad Campus on the "Ashton" tram line, and Ladywell, 45 minutes via the "Ashton-Eccles" line.

 

It is recommended to use public transport to get to the stadium. Trams run every 6 minutes between the city centre and the stadium, with journey times averaging 10 to 15 minutes.

 

🚲 There are over 300 bike parking spaces at the stadium. The largest areas are located under Nexen Tyre bridge, near Ashton New Road and on Joe Mercer Way. There are also spaces outside the East and West stands.

 

💳 Only cashless payments are accepted at the stadium.

 

🛜 WiFi is available in Etihad Stadium.

 

🛗 Only bags with a maximum A4 size are permitted. There are storage lockers at Orange car park level. These lockers are only open on matchdays. They are not available for stadium tours.

 

🌭 To eat at the stadium, there are facilities on the East and West sides. The Summer Bee Bar located in the East stand also offers hot and cold options 2.5 hours before and 1 hour after the match.

🍺 It is also possible to dine in the Ancoats quarter, 45 minutes' walk from the stadium.
