Ibrox Stadium

Ibrox Stadium was originally called Ibrox Park. It was renamed following major renovation work completed in 1997.
Ibrox is the name of the Glasgow neighbourhood where the stadium is located.

It is home to the legendary Rangers club.

It is Scotland's 3rd largest football stadium.

It hosted the Scottish national team during Hampden Park's renovation works in the 1990s.

It also hosted the opening ceremony of the 1938 Universal Exposition. King George VI's speech, broadcast live throughout the Empire on that occasion, inspired the lead actor of the film "The King's Speech" for his performance.

The South Stand, built in 1929, is a listed red brick building, decorated with false windows.
Several tragedies led to major renovations of the stadium, making it one of the most modern in the United Kingdom for a time.

Ibrox Stadium is UEFA category 4 certified.

🔒 Certain key matches of the season are generally reserved for season ticket holders and members: the Celtic derby, Cup semi-finals and finals, major European clashes.

It is recommended to use public transport to get to Ibrox Stadium.

🚨🚗 On match days Edminston Drive is closed 90 minutes before kick-off and reopens 1 hour afterwards. It is best to plan your route in advance. It is also prohibited to park on pavements within a perimeter around the stadium.

🚇 Metro: The stations nearest to the stadium are "Ibrox" and "Cessnock" - the journey from the city centre takes 10 to 15 minutes.

🚍 Bus: Several connections exist from Glasgow and drop you off within 300m of the stadium.

With the "First Glasgow" operator, reach the stadium from the city centre in 15 minutes by taking:

• line 9 "Glasgow-Paisley"
• line 9A "Glasgow-Penilee or Braehead Centre"

You will arrive at Paisley Road West.

🕙 The stadium opens 90 minutes before kick-off.

🌭 There are numerous kiosks throughout the stadium offering a variety of snacks and drinks.

💳 Payments inside the stadium are cashless.

🚭 Smoking and vaping are prohibited within the stadium. Designated smoking areas are indicated.

🛅 There is no left luggage at Ibrox Stadium. Small bags are allowed provided they can be stored under your seat without obstructing the aisle.

🚲 You will find bicycle racks in front of the Copland and Broomloan stands.

How to travel to Glasgow?

✈️ There is an airport in Glasgow: Glasgow Airport (GLA). You will find departures from Paris, Marseille, Brussels.

There is another alternative: Edinburgh Airport, which is close to Glasgow Airport and connected by a train line (journey of 1 hour)

Glasgow Airport is connected to the city centre by a shuttle 🚍, the Glasgow Airport Express. (journey of approximately 15 minutes). The ticket can be purchased from the driver or online.
