HOW TO GET TO MERKUR SPIEL ARENA BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT?

🎟️ For many events the match ticket allows access to public transport in the VRR zone in 2nd class and Deutsche Bahn (logo noted on the ticket).

 

🚇 A U-bahn (metro/tram) line goes from the city centre to the stadium: line U78.

The line starts at the station, runs through the city centre and ends at the stadium.

📍 Get off at stop: "MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA / Messe-Nord" every 5 minutes on matchdays

 

 ⚠️ Check your entry gate at the stadium carefully to plan the time needed to walk around the stadium.

Several e-scooter rental companies (or electric bikes) are available in Düsseldorf: Bolt, Bird, Lime, Tier, Voi

⚠️ Be careful about the parking zone upon arrival (large areas are prohibited for e-scooter parking).

Recommended zones for parking e-scooters:

- North: Rheinbad indoor swimming pool (5 minutes walk from the stadium)
- South: Towards Schnellenburg Hotel on Rotterdamer Straße (15 minutes walk from the stadium)

 

HOW TO TRAVEL TO DÜSSELDORF?

✈️ To reach Düsseldorf by PLANE, 2 airports are available:

- Düsseldorf International Airport, the country's 3rd largest airport
- Cologne - Bonn is also an option

Both airports can reach Düsseldorf by public transport. Allow 15 minutes for Düsseldorf airport, 1 hour for Cologne-Bonn airport.

 

 

🛏️ ACCOMMODATION TIPS IN DÜSSELDORF OR NEARBY

🚆 Germany has an extremely comprehensive rail network.

🌙 Several trains (local, regional or national) run in the evening / overnight.

Look for train lines that run late evening/night to stay in a nearby town or village.
