Raimundo Sampaio Stadium was built for the 1950 World Cup.
Renamed "Arena Independencia" in 2012 following renovations.
Original name: in honour of Raimundo Sampaio, referee in the 1930s-40s and footballer nicknamed "Mundico".

Bus 9033 (Independencia/Centro) departs from Rua dos Tamoios, 873, between Rua Rio Grande do Sul and Avenida Olegário Maciel.
On match days, schedules are extended, with a 20-minute break between services. First departure two hours before the match, and last service one hour after the match.
There are 4 taxi stops on Ruas Nancy de Vasconcelos Gomes, Genoveva de Souza, Mario de Andrade Gomes and Avenue Silviano Brandao.
It is advisable to use public transport to reach the stadium. Surrounding streets are closed and there are no parking spaces. It is possible to reserve a parking space when purchasing your ticket.
