The release of the Ligue 1 calendar is a highly anticipated event every year.
In late February, the LFP first announced the format of the calendar for the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season.
Here are the key dates of the season:
- Championship resumes the weekend of 15-17 August 2025.
- The last matchday of 2025 will be the 16th matchday the weekend of 14 December 2025.
- The final championship matchday (34th matchday) will take place the weekend of 16 May 2026.
- Only one championship matchday is scheduled midweek, which is the 10th matchday on Wednesday 29 October 2025.
But the most anticipated moment is the announcement of the definitive calendar for all 34 matchdays. Here are the release dates of the Ligue 1 calendar for previous seasons:
- For the 2021-2022 season the calendar was announced on Friday 25 June 2021.
- For the 2022-2023 season the calendar was announced on Friday 17 June 2022.
- For the 2023-2024 season the calendar was announced on Thursday 29 June 2023.
- For the 2024-2025 season the calendar was announced on Friday 21 June 2024.
In our view, the release of the Ligue 1 calendar for the 2025-2026 season is therefore expected for late June, probably Thursday 26 or Friday 27 June 2025. We will keep you informed of the release of the calendar for this new season!
