In recent years, the end of season playoffs and barrage matches in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 have been eventful with high-stakes matches: the playoffs and barrage matches for promotion to Ligue 1.

  • Playoff 1: 4th placed Ligue 2 vs 5th placed Ligue 2 
• Saturday 17 May 2025 at 17:00
  • Playoff 2: 3rd placed Ligue 2 vs winner of playoff 1
• Thursday 22 May 2025
  • Barrage first leg: Winner of Ligue 2 playoff 2 vs 16th placed Ligue 1
• Sunday 25 May 2025
  • Barrage second leg: 16th placed Ligue 1 vs winner of Ligue 2 playoff 2

 

Regarding the barrage matches for promotion or to stay in Ligue 2, the 3rd placed team in National faces the 16th placed team in Ligue 2. The 16th placed team in Ligue 2 hosts the return match at home. In the event of a draw on aggregate after both matches there is extra time and then a potential penalty shootout.

• Tuesday 20 May 2025
  • Barrage first leg: 3rd placed National vs 16th placed Ligue 2
• Sunday 25 May 2025
  • Barrage second leg: 16th placed Ligue 2 vs 3rd placed National
