Groundhopping: A few ideas for German weekends in March!

The Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga fixture list is out through to the end of March, so we've put together a handy list of match ideas to enjoy from the terraces of German grounds over a weekend!

German championships are full of stadiums with great atmospheres, and the possibility of easily chaining together a few matches over a weekend, whether by train or car.

Here are some ideas for stadium chains in March, with links to our stadium pages to find all the practical information and notably ticketing.

 

Weekend of 7 to 9 March:

Solution 1:

For this weekend, you can arrive on Friday and leave on Sunday in the late afternoon (there are for example direct trains Frankfurt-Paris or the large Frankfurt airport).

 

Solution 2:

For this weekend, the 2 Saturday matches are doable with 2 hours of train between Berlin and Hamburg (be careful not to dawdle too much). For Sunday Hannover is 1 hour 15 minutes from Hamburg by train.

 

Weekend of 14 to 16 March:

For this weekend, 100% of matches in the Ruhr with free majority of public transport and trains in the region thanks to your match tickets. Be careful you will probably need to look for members at Schalke, Cologne and Bochum, or go for example through Groundhopticket. Possible variant depending on the scheduling of the RW Essen - Dynamo Dresden match in 3. Liga.
