Record Attendance in Stadiums
This tournament was the first to feature so many participants, played in high-capacity venues. Consequently, total attendance shattered previous World Cup records. Over 6.8 million people attended the games, averaging nearly 65,400 spectators per match.
Behind-the-Scenes Organizational Numbers
FIFA also shared figures regarding event logistics and overall management:
1,248 players and 48 participating teams, 48 team base camps, 16 host cities, and 16 stadiums, 645 official venues.
Over 300,000 accredited staff ensuring event operations, supported by 43,000 volunteers and 73,700 security guards.
5.5 Million Beers Consumed in Stadiums
FIFA unveiled the main stats from stadium concession stands:
5.5 million beers were served in stadiums during the tournament, alongside 4.6 million non-alcoholic beverages.
On the food side, 675,000 hot dogs were eaten—equivalent to 1,350 football pitches or 135 kilometers lined up!
A Record-Breaking World Cup across the US, Canada, and Mexico
Looking ahead to the 2030 World Cup, hosted by Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, with 3 centenary matches in Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay.
