Key facts

Formerly Megyeri ut Stadium (Megyer Road Stadium). It took the name of Ferenc Szusza in 2003, named after one of Hungary's greatest strikers.

Ferenc Szusza Stadium was Hungary's first proper stadium (built in concrete). After the 1945 floods, the renovations carried out made it Hungary's largest stadium.

It hosted the Hungarian national team from 1948 to 1953, until the construction of Nepstadion.
The stadium was completely modernised in 2001.

Tourism around the stadium

👀 What to see / What to do in Budapest?

The city's location, split in two by the Danube, with both banks lined with majestic monuments illuminated at night, make it a magical place 💫. A cruise 🛥️ is a must-do, we particularly recommend it.

🏰 The must-see monuments in Budapest are Fishermen's Bastion, a historic ensemble overlooking the Danube and offering panoramic views of the city, Buda Castle listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site accessible by funicular, the Hungarian Parliament, St Stephen's Basilica, the Opera...

🏊‍♀️ You will also appreciate treating yourself to a unique moment of relaxation in Budapest's thermal baths, which are an institution with very surprising décor. There are several, including the Széchenyi Thermals, which are the largest.

Finally, you must visit (and ideally have a drink in) the magnificent Art Nouveau style Parisi Udvar Hotel.

👟 There is an enormous amount to see in Budapest, varied neighbourhoods, markets, religious buildings including Europe's largest Synagogue... if you have time, plan your visits and wear your trainers as the city is vast.

👉 You can get the Budapest Card to benefit from free public transport and various advantages for visits and activities.
