It is being transformed into a vast complex featuring more food and beverage services, leisure facilities, a new museum and more... and especially a Skywalk, a 700m² walkway dedicated to VIP spaces. It is notably being equipped with a retractable roof, movable pitch and a 360° screen.

The Santiago Bernabéu stadium hosted the 1982 World Cup. For this occasion, renovation work was carried out and a metal-framed glass roof covering 3/4 of the stands was created.

It also hosted Euro 1964 and the Champions League on several occasions.

It was classified as a 5-star UEFA stadium in 2005.

In 2007, UEFA awarded Santiago Bernabéu the "Elite Stadium" classification.

Nicknames: El Bernabéu / La Casa Blanca - Formerly known as "Nuevo Chamartín" until 1955.
