Built for the 1936 Olympics with a capacity of 100,000 seats at the time. It is also a world-class concert venue and an important venue in the history of athletics. Usain Bolt set the current records for 100m and 200m here.

How to buy tickets for a Hertha Berlin match at the Olympiastadion?

🎟️ Tickets for Schalke 04 matches can be found on the club's online ticket office (direct link on "official ticket office" below).

✅ All matches are easily accessible to the general public. In case of big matches with high stakes, priority may be given to season ticket holders and members.

📆 Tickets are generally put on sale 2 to 4 weeks before each match.

🔃 There is a ticket resale system for Hertha BSC matches. From the same Hertha BSC online ticket office, season ticket holders and ticket holders can resell their seat. It will be available for sale again.

There are various public transport lines allowing direct access to the Olympiastadion in Berlin :

 ⚠️ Make sure you check your entrance to the stands, this is very important for optimal route and to avoid having to walk around the stadium (which can take 10 minutes)

To Entrance A : 🚇 Metro U2 direction Ruhleben, "Olympia-Stadion" stop.  then 10 minutes walk to the stadium.
To Entrance B : 🚅 S-Bahn train lines S3 / S9 direction Spandau / Olympiastadion, "Olympiastadion" stop. then 2 minutes walk to the stadium.

🕘 Allow 30/45 minutes to reach the stadium from the centre. Allow extra time, it's a large stadium with quite a long journey, it's better to plan for unexpected delays (+ time to enter and get to your stand).

How to get to the Olympiastadion in Berlin?

🚗 by car

Traffic on matchdays is very complicated. It is not recommended to drive in the Berlin region, the road network is very congested. You should allow extra time in your planning in case of traffic jams.

What are the other ways to get to the Olympiastadion in Berlin?

Several companies are available in Berlin for alternative transport to public transport or car.

🚕 by TAXI

There is only one place near the stadium to be dropped off by taxi: Heerstasse, 5 minutes on foot from entrance B and 10 minutes from entrance A.

Taxi services available in Berlin are Uber, Bolt and Freenow.

 

🛴 by electric scooter 

Various car-sharing rental companies for electric scooters (or e-bikes) are available in Berlin: Bird, Bolt, Lime, Tier, Voi

⚠️ Make sure to check the parking zone on arrival (large areas are prohibited for scooter parking).

 

How to travel to Berlin?

✈️ by plane : There is a major airport in Berlin, "Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER)".

From France, there are direct flights to Berlin from Paris, Strasbourg, Lyon, Nantes, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Marseille and Nice.

The airport is 1 hour from the stadium and 35 minutes from the main railway station by public transport.

To get to central Berlin, you have 2 options :

Airport Express (FEX): direct train to Berlin station in 30 minutes.
The S9 line (S-Bahn) runs every 20 minutes for a 50-minute journey.

Allow 1 hour to get to the station from the airport by taxi.

🛏️ Accommodation advice in Berlin or nearby

🚆 Germany has an extremely comprehensive railway network.

🌙 Several trains (local, regional or national) run in the evening / overnight.

Here are the steps to save on accommodation:

1️⃣ Look for a town or village near Berlin

2️⃣ Check cheaper hotels/accommodation in the area, near one of these stations

3️⃣ Check the Deutsche Bahn (DB) website for your route, to see if trains do run at night to your destination

4️⃣ Book your accommodation

IC, ICE (national trains like TGV) and overnight trains run at all times, you can also find long-distance routes this way.
