Millerntor-Stadion

🏟️ Millerntor Stadion is home to the football club FC Sankt Pauli and the American football club Blue Devils.

It bears its name "Millerntor-Stadion" from its proximity to an old city gate of Hamburg, the "Millerntor".

Since 2007, FC St. Pauli members have decided to ban any change to the stadium's name or any sale to a sponsor.

In March 2025, the club sold the stadium to its supporters through shares in a cooperative. Millerntor Stadion has been leased to the club by its fans since that date.

The stadium is located in the heart of the very lively St Pauli district close to the centre of Hamburg.

Trivia:

🎶 Each match is kicked off by the bells of AC/DC's "Hells Bells" and the fervour of the supporters is renowned, atmosphere guaranteed.

🎟️ Ticketing: approximately 2 weeks before the match, ticket resale becomes available to the general public. Places are therefore accessible (excluding derbies and big matches, expect £40/50 in the side stands), even more as match day approaches.

How to get to Millerntor Stadion by public transport?

🚇 by Metro

St Pauli Station: Metro U3 heading "Schlump-Barmbeck" - 10 minutes' journey from the central station then 3 minutes on foot.

🚍 by Bus

Lines 112, 16, 17 from the central station

Lines 601, 607, 608, 609, 610 and 641 on weekdays 

To access the North stand for away supporters, it is recommended to get off at the "Feldstrasse" metro station

How to access Millerntor Stadion in Hamburg?

🚗 by car

Traffic is heavy around the stadium on matchdays. It is not advised to travel by car in the Hamburg region, the road network is very congested at normal times. You should allow extra time in case of traffic jams in the area.

Around a hundred parking spaces are located in front of the stadium but they are not accessible on matchdays.

If you come by car, there are 2 options:

Park near your accommodation and get to the stadium using public transport/local trains.
Park in a park and ride or in a nearby village and complete the journey by public transport/local trains.

The taxi services available in Hamburg are Uber, Bolt and Freenow.

🛴 by electric scooter  

Various free-floating rental companies for electric scooters (or electric bikes) are available in Hamburg: Bird, Bolt, Lime, Tier, Voi.

⚠️ Be careful about the parking area upon arrival (large areas are prohibited for scooter parking).

How to travel to Hamburg?

✈️ by plane: There is a major airport in Hamburg, "Hamburg Airport Helmut Schmidt (HAM)".

From France, there are direct flights to Hamburg from: Paris, Lyon, Nantes, Bordeaux and Nice.

🚇 The S-Bahn S1 train line is direct from the airport to the station (located in the city centre). The journey takes 35 minutes. You can buy train tickets upon arrival at the airport.

There is another option: Land at Berlin Airport. Allow 3 hours of travel (a metro to Berlin station then a direct 2-hour train journey to Hamburg).

🚆 Germany has an extremely comprehensive railway network.

🌙 Several trains (local, regional or national) run in the evening/overnight.

Look for train services running late evening/night to stay in a neighbouring city or village. You can in particular use the park and ride map above to see the routes leading to the Hamburg outskirts.
