MetLife Stadium

The Metlife hosts two NFL teams (American Football), the New York Giants and the New York Jets.
It is one of the largest NFL stadiums. Soccer is also played there and concerts are held there.

Its former name was "New Meadowlands Stadium".

It was built next to the Giants' old stadium which has since been demolished.
Seats at the stadium are particularly comfortable, with wide seats and plenty of legroom.

The Metlife has hosted events such as the Gold Cup, Copa America and even the Super Bowl...

Matches from the 2026 FIFA World Cup will take place at Metlife Stadium, including the final. To comply with FIFA rules, the stadium will be called New York New Jersey Stadium during the World Cup.

🚌 By Bus
The "Coach USA Bus" company provides bus service 351 Meadowlands Express from "Port Authority" to MetLife Stadium for events.
This shuttle runs 2 and a half hours before the start of the match and continues to operate until 1 and a half hours after the start of the match. Bus line 351 operates for approximately 1 hour after the end of the match.
The bus drop-off/pick-up point is at parking K, near the "Quest Diagnostics Performance Center", accessible from the MetLife exit.

🚆 By Train
The NJ Transit Rail network connects Frank R. Lautenberg station at Secaucus Junction to MetLife Stadium. 
This station has a park and ride "Edison Park Fast" with 1100 spaces.
Rail service begins 3 and a half hours before kick-off and ends 1 hour after the match. The journey takes approximately 10 minutes.

🚇 How does the New York subway work?

The New York subway operates 24/7. Some stations close at night, but tourist destinations and the most frequently used remain served, especially in Manhattan and Brooklyn.
⚠️ There are express trains that do not serve all stations. Check the number and letter of your departure and destination stations to make sure you arrive safely.
Remember to check the directions of the lines: 
Uptown: trains head north (they go up Manhattan towards Harlem and the Bronx)
Downtown: trains head south (they go down Manhattan towards Financial District and Brooklyn).
You must distinguish between express and local lines. They are distinguished respectively by a white dot and a black dot on New York subway maps.

Until the end of December 2025, to travel on the subway you must purchase a MetroCard. You will no longer be able to buy them in 2026. From January 1st the OMNY contactless system will take over, via your credit card or your phone.
OMNY will allow you to use the subway, buses and LIRR ("Long Island Rail Road" train).

💳 The Metlife is a Cashless stadium. The stadium is equipped with reverse ATMs (allowing you to load cards).

The stadium offers a wide variety of dining and refreshment options. (pizzas, burgers, hot dogs, Mexican food, etc).

🛅 Does Metlife offer a cloakroom service?
The rules regarding which bags are allowed or not are particular. Bags must be completely transparent with a maximum size of 30x30cm. Cloakroom points are located outside each gate of the stadium.

🎟️ Can you visit the MetLife?
Yes, Metlife offers backstage tours, public or private, to be booked in advance online.
Access is via an entrance located between the Moody's and Verizon entrances. Allow 2 hours for a tour.

🚕 A drop-off and pick-up zone for Ride-hailing is located near Metlife Stadium on parking E, near West Peripheral Road, just outside Verizon Gate.

🅿️ The MetLife has approximately 27,500 parking spaces. Rates vary depending on the event. You can pay your parking fees in cash, by credit card or by prepaid card. Terms are different for NFL games and other events.

New York is divided into 5 "boroughs": Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island.

Brooklyn is reputed to be the hipster neighbourhood. Enjoy its panoramas from the Brooklyn Heights promenade and its emblematic bridge which connects Manhattan and offers an incredible view of the city's skyline.
🐾 Brooklyn Zoo is the largest metropolitan zoo in the USA. It is home to bison.
Street art enthusiasts will head to the Brooklyn neighbourhood of Bushwick.

On the island of Manhattan you will find a large part of the city's must-sees: its buildings (Empire State Building, SUMMIT One Vanderbilt, the Flatiron Building), the vast Central Park, Times Square and its gigantic advertising screens, 
🏢 The top of various skyscrapers offer stunning panoramic views  the "top of the rock", an observatory that tops 30 Rockefeller Plaza, or the 100th floor of One World Trade Center.
It is possible to visit the Empire State Building 7 days a week, an Art Deco skyscraper scaled by King Kong. However, you must book in advance and prepare for a wait. There is an Express Pass allowing direct access to the 86th and 102nd floor platforms. (allow 2 hours to enjoy it)

The ferry to the Statue of Liberty is very busy, it is advisable to go early in the morning.
