Key facts

A first stadium Gamla Ullevi was built in 1916. It was destroyed in 2007 to be replaced by the new Gamla Ullevi stadium inaugurated in 2009. The new stadium retained the same name even though it means "old stadium".

Another stadium was built nearby for the FIFA World Cup in 1958. It is much larger and has a capacity of 43,000 seats. It is used for major events such as concerts. It is named Nya Ullevi (New Ullevi).

Gamla Ullevi and Nya Ullevi are part of a large sports complex.

Gamla Ullevi is classified UEFA Category 3*

It is home to IFK Göteborg, GAIS and Örgryte IS. It is also the stadium of the national women's football team.

The stadium hosted the 2013 women's European football championship.

Various tram and bus lines connect to the stadium.

What to see/do in Göteborg?

The city is vast and attractions varied, there is something for everyone. 

You will also find a wide variety of architecture. 🏭 Old industrial areas on the banks of the Göta have been rehabilitated, an ideal walk for contemporary architecture enthusiasts.
